I'm a qualified Industrial Designer, with 4+ years experience working in the design and manufacture space, designing for sheet metal, joinery, and plastics.
I've been lucky enough to spend my career designing things that come to life, and often distributed around the 2 largest supermarkets in Australia!
My life is brainstorming with a team - throwing out ideas, having fun with it! Sometimes it's the out-there, far-fetched suggestions that lead to the good stuff.
It's seeing a project through from the very start where things are fun, through the mess and stress of hard work (repeat as necessary) to the 'close all tabs' excitement and pride of seeing the final product.
I love the nitty gritty hands on work to get a prototype across the line as much as spending hours in CAD-land to model and detail something for production.
Most of all, I try to spend my day having fun and achieving great things with the people I work with! Throw in a variety of projects, the ability to learn new things with every job, all while trying to look after the planet and it's people and you have yourself the perfect job!

Semi Permanent Mentor Program
In 2017/18 I was selected as part of the inaugural Academy Mentorship Program presented by Semi Permanent and Western Sydney University. The program provided me with the chance to partner with Anthony Donovan at Frost Collective over a 6-month period where I was able to learn, chat and be challenged to think bigger.
Anthony continually challenged me to explore what is that I want to do, what I want to design and how I want to achieve it - something which I'd never taken the time to consider. These conversations have given me a greater sense of direction and passion for a career in design.
AR/VR Medical Consultation Project
Working with an academic from a previous unit I was invited to be part of a team working on an innovative medical solution using AR/VR. My role in this team was working on the user-interface of the program, using human-centred design to guide decision making. Working with a deadline, we completed a functioning prototype which was presented to medical professionals, allowing us to gather vital feedback for improvement.
Summer Research Scholarship Program
To assist in a further study/trial, I was selected to undertake a systematic review of home-based wearable technology for stroke rehabilitation. The research program gave me a great opportunity to further develop my research and writing skills, with the completion of a 5000 word final report.
Dean's Merit List
In 2016 and 2017 I was placed on the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics Dean's Merit List, with a GPA of 6+ and in the top 10% of my cohort.
